Golfers can chose from a range of comprehensive packages which can include coaching programmes with PGA and state-of-the-art training facilities for those wanting to perfect their putt. One of Dubai’s newest golf courses is the Ernie Els Club located at Dubai Sports City. ‘The Els Club’, which is named after its designer, is an 18-hole championship golf course including a Mediterranean-style clubhouse with a private lounge and a selection of dining experiences. |

Other exciting projects for golf fans include Dubai Golf City part of the new Dubailand development which will feature 5 world-class signature courses. Dubailand will also be home to Tiger Woods’ first golf course the ‘Al Ruwaya’ course which is due to open in 2009. |

On the spectator side, Dubai hosts the European PGA Dubai Desert Classic (in February/March) which attracts top golfers such as Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson and Colin Montgomerie and the Asian PGA Dubai Creek Open. And the current European Tour’s ‘Order of Merit’ is now to be renamed ‘Race to Dubai’, with the prize reaching an amazing £4.9 million.
